New Delhi, June 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the centenary celebrations of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj in the national capital tomorrow. He will also address the gathering, marking the formal beginning of a year-long national tribute to the revered Jain spiritual leader and social reformer. The celebrations are being organised by the Government of India in collaboration with the Bhagwan Mahaveer Ahimsa Bharti Trust, to honour the 100th birth anniversary of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj. Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj was a renowned scholar, philosopher, and reformer in the Jain tradition.
Over his lifetime, he authored more than 50 works on Jain philosophy and ethics, and played a key role in the revival and restoration of ancient Jain temples across India. He was also deeply committed to promoting education in Prakrit, classical Indian languages, and Jain scriptures. The centenary programme will include a series of cultural, literary, educational, and spiritual events throughout the year.
These initiatives aim to celebrate the Acharya’s enduring legacy and promote his message of non-violence, compassion, and ethical living. The event in Delhi is expected to be attended by spiritual leaders, scholars, devotees, and dignitaries from across the country.
