Agartala, June 28, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening medical and technical education infrastructure for a better future of the state’s youth. Speaking as the Chief Guest at the Bhupendra Chandra Dutta Bhowmik Merit-cum-Means Award 2025 ceremony held at Muktadhara Auditorium, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of quality education and improved learning infrastructure.
He stated that due to these efforts, students from Tripura can now pursue higher education within the state itself. “Any award is a recognition of the relentless struggle and determination of students,” said the Chief Minister. He encouraged students to not only focus on studies but also to develop a sense of service for the welfare of society, which he termed essential to living a meaningful life. Dr. Saha added that both the Centre and State governments are working on various initiatives to promote quality education, with special emphasis on extending educational infrastructure to the grassroots level.
Referring to the current era as “Amrit Kaal,” as declared by the Prime Minister, he highlighted that this period must be utilized to shape the nation’s future through education. Paying tribute to veteran journalist Bhupendra Chandra Dutta Bhowmik, the Chief Minister described him as a fearless and talented journalist who remained committed to professional integrity and societal accountability. “Through his writings, he consistently highlighted various social issues and continued to advance Dainik Sambad newspaper even in challenging circumstances,” he said.
Other dignitaries who addressed the event included Sanjoy Pal, Chairman of Dainik Sambad Trust; Swami Shubhokarananda Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Viveknagar; and Prof. Dr. Ratan Kumar Saha, Vice Chancellor of Techno India University. Dr. Parthapratim Saha, a member of the Dainik Sambad Trust, was also present. A total of 35 meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds were honored with certificates, mementos, and financial aid cheques during the ceremony.
