Agartala, 23 June 2025: Tripura Olympic Association observed Olympic Day today with great enthusiasm. A colourful rally was organized at 6:30 AM to mark the occasion.
The rally was flagged off by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy, who expressed hope that through the efforts of the Olympic Association, more boys and girls from the state would get the opportunity to participate in the Olympics in the coming days. He emphasized that the state’s sports infrastructure is being further strengthened to achieve this goal

The Minister also said that he expects many future athletes from Tripura to shine in the Olympics, following in the footsteps of Padma Shri Dipa Karmakar, who has made the state proud on the international stage.
Several dignitaries were present during the event, including Chairman of Tripura Olympic Association Ratan Saha, President and Olympian Padma Shri Dipa Karmakar, Director of Sports Department S. B. Nath, and Joint Secretary of the Olympic Association Krishnapada Sarkar.
Members of the Tripura Olympic Association and players from various other sports associations of the state took part in the rally, which began in front of Rabindra Bhavan, paraded through the main streets, and concluded back at the starting point.
