Agartala, June 5, 2025: In a significant move to strengthen healthcare services in the state, the Directorate of Health Services, Government of Tripura, has announced the recruitment of 100 Nursing Officers on a purely contractual basis. The engagement will be for a duration of 11 months, with a consolidated monthly remuneration of ₹34,700 per candidate.
According to the official notification signed by Prof. (Dr.) Tapan Majumdar, I/C Director of Health Services, on June 3, the recruitment drive includes inclusive reservation provisions. Of the 100 posts, 17 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), 31 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 52 for Unreserved (UR) category candidates. The notification also sets aside two posts for Ex-servicemen (1 ST, 1 UR), 35 for women (6 SC, 11 ST, 18 UR), and four posts for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be permanent residents of Tripura and fall within the age range of 18 to 40 years as of the notification date. Relaxations of up to five years are applicable for SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
Educational qualifications include a Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM), B.Sc. Nursing, or Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. All candidates must be registered with the Tripura Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RNRM). Knowledge of either Bengali or Kokborok is considered desirable.
Selection Process
The selection will be based on a two-stage process, equally weighted between academic performance and an interview. Candidates will be shortlisted for the interview in a 1:3 ratio based on their Academic Performance Index (API), which is calculated from marks obtained in Madhyamik (Class 10), Higher Secondary (+2), and nursing qualifications.
The interview or viva voce, also marked out of 50, will evaluate communication and presentation skills, domain knowledge, general awareness, and professional appearance.
Key Conditions
Applicants must possess valid documents including the PRTC (Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate), RNRM registration from the Tripura Nursing Council, an Employment Exchange Card, and relevant educational certificates. The contract appointment does not guarantee permanent employment, and either party may terminate the engagement with one month’s notice.
Nursing Officers will be allowed 12 days of Casual Leave and 10 days of Commuted Leave for medical reasons during the tenure. Any additional leave will be unpaid.
