Pakyong, June 4 (IPR): In response to the severe weather disturbance impacted the region, Phirphirey Ward under Pachey Samsing GPU experienced disruptions, prompting a site visit by District Disaster Management Authority today to assess the situation and extend support to the affected families.
The visit aimed to assess the extent of damage and ensure immediate support to the affected residents.


The site visit was conducted under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Pakyong, Mr Dakman Subba, along with District Project Officer (DPO), Mr TR Chettri, Revenue Officer-cum-Assistant Director (RO/AD), Mr Kiran Chettri, Panchayat Member of Phirphirey, Ms Rosila Gurung, and officials from the District Administrative Centre (DAC), Pakyong.
During the inspection, the following damages were recorded:
The house of Mrs Kanchan Moti Pradhan was severely damaged.
Mrs Aruna Subba suffered extensive loss of property, including her cow shed, greenhouses, and cultivated crops.
The residence of Mrs Purna Kumari Gurung was completely destroyed.
Mr Bir Bhoj Gurung’s cowshed sustained major damage.
Mr Kamal Gurung reported partial damage to his kancha house and complete destruction of his pukka house.
A pukka house and pipelines belonging to Mr Aita Bahadur Gurung were also severely damaged.
Addressing the situation on the ground, SDM Pakyong, Mr Dakman Subba, reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to restore normalcy at the earliest. He further stated that, in close coordination with local authorities, the administration remains vigilant and fully dedicated to extending all necessary and timely assistance to the affected families.
As part of the immediate relief measures, ex gratia assistance was provided to the affected families by SDM Pakyong on behalf of the district administration.
