Agartala, June 3, 2025: The Department of Tourism, Government of Tripura, has officially released a notification for the recruitment of 15 Group-D (Non-technical) Attendant posts, as per the newly framed Attendant (Group-D) of Tourism Department Recruitment Rules, 2025. These rules replace all previous regulations and came into immediate effect upon their publication in the official Gazette.
The recruitment is being conducted for direct entry into the government service under the Group-D Non-Gazetted category, with the potential for additional vacancies as they arise. The post carries a pay scale under Cell-1 of Revised Pay Level-1 of the Tripura State Pay Matrix 2018, corresponding to the pre-revised scale of PB-1 (₹4840–₹13000) with Grade Pay of ₹1400, subject to future revisions.
Eligibility Criteria:
Age Limit: Candidates must be 18 to 40 years old. Upper age limit relaxation of 5 years is applicable for SC/ST/PwDs (PH) and government servants. Educational Qualification: UR Candidates: Minimum Class VIII pass from a recognized school. SC/ST/PH Candidates: Minimum Class V pass. PRTC (Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura) is mandatory. Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok is desirable.
Recruitment Procedure:
The entire recruitment process will be based on 100% direct recruitment via a competitive examination, conducted by a designated Recruitment Board. The selection will comprise:
Written Test: 85 marks Interview/Viva-voce: 15 marks Total: 100 marks
Examination Pattern:
The written exam (Descriptive/OMR/MCQ type) will be divided into two parts:
English & General Studies (Class V standard) – 30 Marks Basic English Arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok Duration: 2 hours General Knowledge & Current Affairs – 35 Marks General awareness, current events (India & Tripura-centric) Duties of Group-D staff and knowledge of administrative divisions (Sub-Divisions, Districts, Blocks of Tripura) Duration: 2 hours Interview/Viva-voce: 15 Marks Aims to assess personality, communication, and suitability for public service.
Probation Period:
Selected candidates will be placed on a two-year probation, during which their performance and conduct will be evaluated.
Other Provisions & Disqualifications:
The recruitment rules include clauses disqualifying candidates involved in bigamous marriages, unless permitted under personal law and approved by the State Government. The government also retains the authority to relax any rule, with written justification and the concurrence of the GA (P&T) Department.
Furthermore, all existing reservation benefits and age relaxations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, and other eligible categories will continue to apply.
