Ludhua Tea Garden to be Developed into Eco-Tourism Park: Tourism Minister
Tripura, 01 June, 2025: The Tourism Department is working to showcase the natural beauty of the state on the global map. As part of this initiative, Ludhua Tea Garden will be developed into an eco-tourism park. A large-scale project has already been undertaken for this purpose. In the initial phase, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) worth around ₹32 crore is being prepared. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury shared this information while speaking to reporters during his visit to the Ludhua Tea Garden and its surrounding areas in Sabroom today.

He stated that within the next few months, work will begin to transform the tea garden into an eco-tourism park. The project will include features such as a waterbody with boating facilities, a cafeteria, ropeway, footbridge, seating areas, log huts, as well as gardens with medicinal and flowering plants.
During the media interaction, the Tourism Minister further said that the state government is working to elevate the tourism industry to new heights within the next 2–3 years. Efforts are being made to ensure that both domestic and out-of-state tourists can enjoy all necessary amenities at any tourist destination in the state. The development of the tourism industry will also expand employment opportunities for the unemployed.
The minister expressed hope that Ludhua Tea Garden will soon become a favorite destination for tourists. During the inspection visit, the minister was accompanied by former MLA Shankar Roy, Tourism Department Director Prashanta Badal Negi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Shivjyoti Dutta, Executive Architect Sunil Poddar, and others.
