The 76th State-Level Van Mahotsav will be celebrated on July 1 at Behala Bari Ground in Khowai Subdivision.
To ensure the success of this event, a preparatory meeting was held today at the Conference Hall of the District Magistrate’s Office, chaired by Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma. The meeting was attended by RK Shyaml, Principal Secretary of the Forest Department; PCCF Chaitanyamurti; Khowai District Magistrate Rajat Panth; Superintendent of Police Ranaditya Das; Khowai Sub-Divisional Magistrate Charu Verma; and DFO Akshayaralo Burde, among others.
During the meeting, Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma called upon all departments to work in coordination to make the state-level Van Mahotsav a grand success. It was decided that, apart from various government departments, Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMCs) and Self-Help Groups will also set up exhibition stalls.
Along with the tree plantation drive, cultural programs will also be organized during the festival. For effective implementation of the event, 10 sub-committees have been formed.
