Agartala, June 10, 2025: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Tripura, has issued an official notification regarding the commencement of the admission process for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) training courses for the academic session 2025–2026.
According to the notification, online applications will be accepted from June 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM and will close on June 30, 2025, at 10:00 PM. Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications through the official website of the DME, Tripura — www.dme.tripura.gov.in.


Application Fees
A non-refundable registration fee has been fixed at ₹250 for Unreserved (UR) category candidates and ₹200 for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The fees must be deposited into the DME’s savings account maintained at SBI, Agartala Branch (Account Number: 34706666148, IFSC Code: SBIN0000002).
Interview & Counseling
The selection process will include interviews and counseling, which will be conducted centrally at the KLS Auditorium, AGMC & GBP Hospital Complex, Agartala (West Tripura). The specific dates for these procedures will be announced in due course on the official portal.
Eligibility Criteria
Residential Requirement: Applicants must be permanent residents of Tripura. Age Limit: The age of applicants must be between 17 and 35 years as of December 31, 2025. Educational Qualification: For GNM (Male & Female): Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary (+2) or equivalent examination with at least 40% marks (35% for SC/ST). For ANM (Female): Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary (+2) or equivalent examination. Female candidates who have passed the ANM (Regular) course from INC/SNRC-recognized institutions are also eligible to apply for the GNM course.
Provisions for PWD Candidates
Candidates with locomotor disabilities (40%–50% of the lower extremities) are eligible to apply, subject to submission of a valid disability certificate. Other eligibility criteria remain unchanged for PWD applicants.
Reservation Policy
Admissions will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Reservation Policy Act, 1991 of the Government of Tripura. This includes reservations for SC/ST/UR candidates. Additionally, a 2% reservation is available for Wards of Ex-Servicemen (WESM), and 5% for Persons with Disabilities (PWD). The number of state quota seats may also be increased, subject to availability.
