Tripura, June 5, 2025: In a proud moment for South Tripura, Smt. Sangita Choudhury from Radhanagar was honoured today by District Magistrate Muhammad Sajad P., IAS, for clinching a Silver Medal at the recently held National Powerlifting Championship in Maharashtra.
The felicitation ceremony took place at the District Magistrate’s office, where Sangita was commended not only for her athletic excellence but also for being a symbol of inspiration for women and youth across the state. The DM praised her determination, discipline, and contribution to sports in Tripura.
Also present at the occasion was Mr. Dulal Sukla Das, her coach, who has played a pivotal role in shaping Sangita’s journey. Mr. Das was recently recognised with accolades by the Tripura Powerlifting Association for his consistent efforts in mentoring young athletes.
Speaking at the event, DM Muhammad Sajad P. said,
“It is a matter of immense pride for South Tripura that our athletes are making a mark on the national stage. Sangita’s success is a shining example of what dedication and good mentorship can achieve.”
The event was attended by district officials, sports enthusiasts, and local residents who gathered to celebrate the achievements of one of South Tripura’s finest athletes.
