Tripura, May 23: A tragic incident occurred earlier on Saturday in the Nabinchhara area under Pecharthal, where two siblings — Sumanta Chakma (30) and Mina Chakma (27) — lost their lives after being struck by lightning.
The sudden and heartbreaking incident has cast a deep shadow of grief across the locality. Family members and local residents are in shock and mourning the untimely demise of the brother and sister.
Reacting to the incident, Tripura minister Santana Chakma expressed profound sorrow through a social media post. She described the deaths as a “cruel blow of nature” and said the sudden loss of the two young lives was extremely painful and difficult to accept.
The minister also prayed to Lord Buddha to grant strength, patience, and courage to the bereaved family members during this difficult time of immense grief and suffering.
Meanwhile, the administration has started looking into the incident. However, the tragedy has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of the family and the local community.
