Agartala, May 31. In a commendable humanitarian gesture, Khowai Police successfully traced a missing youth and reunited him with his family after he had been reported missing for three days.
According to Khowai Police Station Officer-in-Charge Krishna Dhan Sarkar, 26-year-old Rohini Kumar Jamatia, a resident of Raiyabari area under Killa Police Station, had gone missing from his home three days ago. After extensive searches failed to locate him, his family lodged a missing diary at Killa Police Station.
As information about the missing youth circulated across the state, Khowai Police spotted Rohini wandering in the Mahadebtila area under Khowai Police Station on Saturday night. Police personnel identified him and brought him safely to the police station.
The family was immediately informed through Killa Police Station. On Sunday afternoon, Rohini’s mother arrived at Khowai Police Station, where OC Krishna Dhan Sarkar formally handed over her son. Police also extended financial assistance to help the family return home safely, reflecting a compassionate approach beyond their official duty.
