Khowai, Mar 23: A district-level programme commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram was held on Monday at the auditorium of Dasarath Deb Memorial College, with participation of over 300 students, officials, and educators.
Organised jointly by the Khowai District Administration, Information & Cultural Affairs Department, Education Department, and the college, the event highlighted the historical and cultural significance of the national song.
The programme was inaugurated by the Joint Director of Information & Cultural Affairs Dilip Kumar Debbarma, while District Education Officer Nilmoni Debbarma attended as chief guest.
Speakers stressed the importance of patriotism and heritage, followed by a collective rendition of Vande Mataram and patriotic performances by students. The event concluded with a rally across Khowai town, marking widespread participation and enthusiasm.
