Udaipur, Jan 6: A 38-year-old man was killed after a tree fell on him while he was cutting it in the Garjee area of Udaipur on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Debashish Jamatia of the area. According to local sources, the incident occurred when the tree suddenly broke during the cutting process and fell on his head, causing critical injuries.
Hearing about the incident, local residents rushed to the spot and shifted him to Gomati District Hospital. However, the on-duty doctor examined him and declared him brought dead.
Family members rushed to the hospital after receiving the information and were seen grief-stricken. Hospital authorities said the body was sent to the morgue for post-mortem examination, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy.
The incident has left the area under a pall of grief.
