₹18 Crore Raima-Saima Pilgrims Guest House to be Built at Tirthamukh
Tripura 17 Jan, 2025: The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) administration is set to begin the construction of the much-awaited Raima-Saima Pilgrims Guest House at Tirthamukh, New Gomati. Today, TTAADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Purna Chandra Jamatia, along with Executive Member (EM) Dolly Reang, and PWD Chief Engineers Tinku Jamatia and Sunil Debbarma, visited the project site.
₹18 Crore Project, 30,000 Sq. Ft. Guest House
The demand for this pilgrims’ guest house was raised in 2022, and it was finally sanctioned in March 2024. The guest house will be constructed over an area of 30,000 square feet and is expected to provide much-needed accommodation facilities for visiting pilgrims.
Speaking about the project, CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia said:
“This has been our long-standing dream. Now, it is becoming a reality—not just because of our government’s efforts, but also due to the vision of our beloved Bubagra (Tipra Motha founder and Tripura royal scion Pradyot Manikya Debbarma).”
A Major Relief for Pilgrims During Makar Sankranti
Every year, thousands of devotees gather at Tirthamukh during Makar Sankranti. The site is visited not only by people from Tripura but also by members of Indigenous communities from Bangladesh. Due to the lack of proper accommodation, the TTAADC government took this crucial decision to construct the guest house, ensuring comfort and convenience for the pilgrims.
New Guest House Planned in West Duluma
In addition to Tirthamukh, another guest house will be constructed in West Duluma at an estimated cost of ₹4 crore. CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia and EM Dolly Reang also visited the site for this upcoming project.
These infrastructure developments under TTAADC are expected to significantly benefit both pilgrims and tourists visiting these sacred sites.
