Tripura 13 Feb, 2025: Yesterday, The 35th Tripura Industry and Trade Fair concluded today at Hapania International Fair Ground. The 15-day-long fair began on January 29 and ended with a grand closing ceremony, where Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy was present as the chief guest.
In his speech, the Finance Minister highlighted that this year’s fair was larger in scale compared to previous editions. With an increased number of stalls and record-breaking footfall, the fair witnessed sales of over ₹5 crore. He further emphasized that the state government has been fostering an industry-friendly environment, leading to growing interest from established business firms across the country in investing in Tripura.
As part of the fair, a Business Conclave 2025 was held on February 7 and 8, during which 87 MoUs were signed between investors and various departments. These agreements are expected to bring investments worth approximately ₹3,800 crore to the state in the coming years.
The Finance Minister also noted the significant improvements in Tripura’s connectivity, which have encouraged outside investors to set up industries in the state. He stated that there are strong possibilities of introducing double railway lines to further enhance connectivity. The government is particularly focusing on industries based on rubber, tea, and agarwood. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives for the development of the Northeast and their positive impact on Tripura and its people.
Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma emphasized that the recent Union Budget has given special importance to MSMEs, aligning with the state government’s priorities. She expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for the successful completion of the trade fair.
Sports Minister Tinku Roy spoke about the evolving business-friendly environment in Tripura, noting that young entrepreneurs in the state are becoming increasingly self-reliant. He also mentioned initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills of Self-Help Group (SHG) women to improve the quality and marketability of their products. As a result, the recently concluded SARAS Fair recorded sales of over ₹4 crore. He further stated that improved infrastructure and welfare schemes like PM Awas Yojana and Jal Jeevan Mission have created new business opportunities in Tripura.
This year’s fair featured 576 stalls, including 354 stalls by local entrepreneurs. Businesses from Afghanistan, Turkey, and Dubai also participated, alongside 17 states from across India. The fair’s central theme was “Destination Tripura: Land of Opportunities.”

The event began with a welcome speech by Industries and Commerce Department Director Vishwashree B. Other dignitaries present included Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Chairman Nabadal Banik, MLAs Mina Rani Sarkar and Kishore Barman, Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Samir Ranjan Ghosh, and West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar.
