Tripura 16 Feb, 2025: Doctors and healthcare workers across the state are tirelessly working to provide healthcare services to the people. On February 13, 2025, a mega eye treatment camp was organized at Amarpur Sub-Divisional Hospital under Gomati district. A total of 75 patients from various remote areas of the district underwent eye examinations during the camp. Among them, 35 patients successfully underwent free cataract surgery. After the surgery, each patient received free black sunglasses and necessary medicines. The remaining patients had other eye-related issues and were also provided with free treatment and essential medicines.
The mega eye treatment camp was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Rabindra Das, Program Officer of the State Blindness Control Society, with the support of Dr. Kamal Reang, Chief Medical Officer of Gomati district. The medical team included eye specialist surgeons Dr. Samuel Debbarma and Dr. Chandam Acharya. Additionally, optometrists Bhavatosh Shil, Sourav Chakraborty, Rana Baidya, and Sangeeta Sutradhar, along with nursing officers Reena Das and Kusum Chakraborty, were part of the team.
Patients from remote areas, along with their family members, expressed their gratitude to the health department and the medical team for providing free eye treatment and successful cataract surgeries. The health department issued a press release with this information.
