Dharmanagar, Mar 31. Ahead of the April 9 by-election to the 56-Dharmanagar Assembly constituency, the district administration and police conducted a flag march on Tuesday to instill confidence among voters and ensure a peaceful polling process.
Led by the District Magistrate Chandani Chandran and Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai of North Tripura, the march began around 5:00 PM and covered key routes across Dharmanagar town. Officials interacted with residents during the march, assuring them of robust security arrangements and a free, fair, and impartial election.
The administration emphasized that adequate security personnel, including Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), will be deployed at all polling stations to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain law and order.
Among those present were the Returning Officer of the 56-AC, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Dharmanagar, and the Assistant Collector of North Tripura, along with security forces.
