Sabroom: Mar 26. In an effort to promote sports and keep youth away from substance abuse, Minister Santana Chakma organised a cricket tournament in memory of her father, Chandradhan Chakma, at a ground near Pecharthal Bazar.
The final of the “Chandradhan Chakma Memorial Cricket Tournament” was held on Thursday in a vibrant and festive atmosphere. Panisagar Yuva Morcha clinched the championship title, while Dharmanagar Padmapur Club finished as runners-up.
The initiative was aimed at encouraging young people to participate in outdoor sports and focus on their physical and mental well-being.
Chandradhan Chakma, a respected social worker, was known for his lifelong service to the poor and underprivileged. He was widely admired in the region for his compassion and dedication.
