Agartala, Mar 25: The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) is aiming to declare the 2026 board examination results by May 7, even as concerns persist over teacher availability due to election duties for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
TBSE President Dhananjay Gon Choudhury said the Board remains committed to the timeline despite the potential impact of poll-related engagements.
This year, a total of 31,184 candidates appeared for the Class 10 examinations, while 26,502 students took the Class 12 exams, pushing the combined figure to nearly 58,700.
The evaluation of answer scripts is scheduled to commence between April 6 and 7. Officials said necessary instructions to examiners will be issued shortly. Scripts have already been collected, with each bundle containing around 18–20 papers.
The Board will follow a three-tier evaluation system, involving initial assessment by examiners, followed by scrutiny and final verification by head examiners to ensure accuracy and fairness.
However, the President acknowledged that the engagement of a significant number of teachers in the upcoming TTAADC elections could affect the evaluation process. While the exact number of teachers assigned election duty is yet to be confirmed, the Board is preparing for possible disruptions.
To mitigate delays, TBSE has engaged experienced teachers from private institutions, particularly those with seven to eight years of experience, to support the evaluation work.
Choudhury also noted an increase in student participation this year, with around 8,000 more candidates compared to previous sessions.
Reaffirming the Board’s commitment, he said all necessary steps are being taken to ensure the timely declaration of results without compromising on accuracy.
