South Tripura, Mar 22: With the upcoming TTAADC elections approaching, the Left Front has stepped up its campaign in South Tripura’s Sabroom sub-division, aiming to reclaim lost political ground. Party leaders and workers conducted door-to-door outreach programmes on Sunday across multiple areas, seeking support for their candidates.
In the 28-Silachhari Monubankul constituency, CPI(M) candidate Uchathai Mog received active backing as campaign teams visited households in Ludhua and Sonai. Leaders engaged directly with voters, highlighting key political issues and urging support.
Similarly, in the 27-Muhuripur–Bhuratali constituency, campaign efforts intensified in the Sinduk Pathar area in favour of candidate Barjung Tripura. Senior leaders, including former MLA Prabhat Chowdhury and Sanjib Deb, participated in the outreach initiatives.
Left leaders alleged that the ruling Tipra Motha has failed to safeguard tribal interests in the ADC areas. They criticized the party for not addressing basic issues despite coming to power with emotive promises like “Greater Tipraland,” claiming that development in hill areas has stalled.
The Left Front, meanwhile, is focusing on education, healthcare, and employment in its campaign agenda. Leaders emphasized their commitment to ensuring genuine autonomy in the ADC while maintaining peace and harmony in the hills.
They also claimed that the public response to their campaign indicates growing support, positioning the Left Front as a potential alternative force in the upcoming elections.
