Dhalai, Mar 22. In a major breakthrough, police in Ambassa arrested three accused and recovered stolen gold ornaments within 10 days of a burglary at Dulubari in Ambassa sub-division.
The theft took place on March 12 at the residence of Utpal Roy, where burglars decamped with cash and gold ornaments during the night. Following a written complaint, police launched an investigation led by Officer-in-Charge Nandan Das and his team.
Acting on confidential inputs, police detained three suspects after sustained investigation over several days. The stolen gold ornaments were successfully recovered from their possession.
OC Nandan Das stated that the three accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway to identify other members of the gang, indicating the possibility of a larger thieves network.
Meanwhile, the house owner Utpal Roy expressed satisfaction over the swift police action, stating he did not expect the recovery to happen so quickly and thanked the Ambassa police for their efforts.
