Dharmanagar, Mar 22. Ahead of the upcoming by-election in the 56-Dharmanagar Assembly constituency, Manik Saha held a crucial organisational meeting at the North Tripura BJP district office on Sunday, outlining campaign strategy and expressing confidence in a decisive victory.
Addressing the media, Saha said the bypoll was necessitated following the demise of former Speaker and MLA Biswa Bandhu Sen. He announced that the party has nominated Jahar Chakraborty as its candidate, highlighting his long-standing association with the party and experience in handling key responsibilities.
Saha stated that he had arrived in Dharmanagar to campaign in support of the candidate along with senior leaders and ministers, ahead of the nomination filing scheduled for Monday. He expressed strong optimism, claiming that BJP is likely to secure a bigger victory margin than in the previous election.
The meeting focused on grassroots-level campaigning, including door-to-door outreach and highlighting developmental works carried out in the constituency under the BJP government.
The meeting was attended by Minister Sudhangshu Das, party leaders Tapas Bhattacharya, Ratan Ghosh, district president Kajal Das, Zilla Sabhadhipati Aparna Nath, along with party workers and supporters.
