Agartala, Mar 17: The Tripura government has 445 posts lying vacant in the Tribal Welfare, SC Welfare and OBC Welfare Departments, the Minister-in-charge Bikash Debbarma informed the Assembly on Tuesday, providing detailed post-wise data.
Replying to an unstarred question No. 261, raised by LoP Jitendra Chaudhary the TWD Minister stated that vacancies span across all categories.
In Group-A, 1 post of Dy. Director is vacant. In Group-B, vacancies include 1 Accounts Officer, 11 Special Officers, and 1 Research Officer. Under Group-B (Non-Gazetted), there are 2 Office Superintendent posts vacant.
A large number of vacancies exist in Group-C posts, including 7 Accountant-cum-Storekeeper, 16 Amin, 3 Driver, 35 Extension Officer, 3 Head Clerk, 5 Hostel Superintendent, 6 Inspector, 26 Investigator, 5 Junior Engineer (Overseer), 3 Junior Research Assistant, 42 Lower Division Clerk (LDC), 1 Rehabilitation Inspector, 6 Research Assistant, 1 Senior Storekeeper, 1 Storekeeper, 137 Supervisor, 6 Surveyor, and 5 Upper Division Clerk (UDC).
In Group-D, vacancies include 1 Assistant Caretaker, 1 Attendant, 6 Chainman, 2 Cook, 3 Cook-cum-Masalchi, 1 Darowan, 2 Helper, 1 Mashalchi, 17 Night Guard, 90 Peon, 2 Sweeper, and 1 Watchman.
The Minister further informed that 89 posts have been filled during the last three financial years, with year-wise and post-wise details. In 2023–24, 29 Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and 1 Peon post were filled. In 2024–25, 46 Lower Division Clerk (LDC), 1 Peon, and 2 Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts were filled. In 2025–26, 10 Lower Division Clerk (LDC) posts were filled.
Regarding recruitment, the Minister said requisition has been sent to the Joint Recruitment Board of Tripura (JRBT) for 50 Supervisor posts, while the process for filling remaining vacancies will begin after government approval.
