Agartala, March 13, 2026: The Tripura Government presented the first budget of the new Legislative Assembly, outlining a comprehensive roadmap for development, economic growth, and improved public welfare across the state. The budget emphasizes infrastructure expansion, digital transformation, agriculture development, improved healthcare services, and strengthened education systems.
According to the official document released by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, the government stated that Tripura is moving forward with a vision of inclusive and balanced development, ensuring that the benefits of progress reach people in both urban and rural areas.

The government highlighted that significant progress has been achieved in strengthening digital infrastructure. High-speed connectivity has been expanded across the state through initiatives such as the State Wide Area Network and improved optical fibre connectivity. These efforts have enabled the digital delivery of government services and strengthened administrative efficiency.
The budget also focuses strongly on agriculture and rural development. Various schemes have been implemented to improve farmers’ productivity, promote modern agricultural practices, and support allied sectors such as fisheries and livestock. Programs such as Mukhyamantri Fasal Bima Yojana and other financial support initiatives have been introduced to safeguard farmers against crop loss and improve their livelihoods.
In the healthcare sector, the government has expanded medical infrastructure and strengthened public health services. Several hospitals and health centres have been upgraded, and new medical facilities have been established to ensure better access to healthcare across the state. The government also highlighted the strengthening of maternal and child healthcare services and improved emergency medical response systems.
Education has been another major focus area. The government has taken steps to improve school infrastructure, expand digital learning, and implement the National Education Policy. New educational institutions, including technical and higher education facilities, are being developed to enhance learning opportunities for students.
Infrastructure development remains a key priority in the budget. The government has undertaken large-scale road construction and improvement projects to enhance connectivity across Tripura. Rural roads, highways, and urban infrastructure are being upgraded to facilitate transportation and economic growth.
Additionally, the government has strengthened social welfare schemes aimed at supporting women, youth, and marginalized communities. Skill development programs and employment initiatives are being implemented to create new opportunities for the people of Tripura.
