Tripura, 08 March 2026: The Killa Press Club was officially inaugurated today by Purna Chandra Jamatia, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), in the presence of journalists and reporters from the Killa area.
Addressing the gathering, CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia said that the day was very important as the press club was established after many years of effort and initiative. He expressed satisfaction that the long-standing demand for a press club in the area has finally been fulfilled.
He stated that with the establishment of the press club, many communication challenges in the region will now become easier to handle. Earlier, several important news stories from the area often went unreported due to the lack of proper media coordination.
The CEM further highlighted that through the press club, journalists will be able to cover issues from remote areas more effectively, ensuring that local problems and developments reach the wider public through the media.
He also advised journalists to undergo professional training and courses to improve their skills. He emphasized that misleading content can have a negative impact on society, and therefore responsible journalism is essential.
It was also informed that the Killa Press Club has been officially registered with Registration No. 10010.
Members of the Killa Press Club and several local media representatives were also present during the inauguration ceremony.
