North Tripura: Mar 07. ‘ASHA Bharosa Divas’ was observed with enthusiasm at the Laljuri Primary Health Centre (PHC) in North Tripura on Saturday, highlighting the crucial role of ASHA workers in strengthening grassroots healthcare.
The programme focused on key public health priorities such as tuberculosis detection, malaria prevention and routine immunisation coverage.
Addressing the gathering, PHC In-Charge Dr. Sayan Bhattacharya emphasised the importance of field-level surveys and active case detection in building a TB-free society. He urged ASHA workers to ensure that suspected TB patients are identified early and complete their medication courses without interruption.
Special discussions were also held on malaria prevention ahead of the monsoon season, with ASHA workers receiving guidance on increasing community awareness and ensuring timely blood testing for suspected cases. Another major focus of the programme was Routine Immunisation (RI), with health officials directing workers to strengthen surveys so that no child or pregnant woman in the area is left out of vaccination.
A total of 52 ASHA workers and four ASHA facilitators from the Laljuri area participated in the programme. One Multi-Purpose Supervisor was also present to oversee administrative coordination.
During the event, the health centre recognised the efforts of ASHA workers who play a vital role in delivering healthcare services in remote villages. As a gesture of appreciation and support for their field work, sarees and umbrellas were distributed among all the ASHA workers.
The programme concluded with refreshments for the participants, marking the successful completion of the awareness and review session aimed at strengthening rural healthcare services in the region.
