Agartala, Jan 5: Candidates who appeared for the 2022 Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) staged a protest at Shiksha Bhavan on Monday, demanding publication of results that have remained pending for nearly four years.
The agitating aspirants said the prolonged delay has pushed their careers into uncertainty, as repeated representations to the authorities have failed to get any response. They also expressed resentment over the announcement of fresh STGT recruitment while the earlier selection process is yet to be completed, forcing them to appear again for the same examination.
As the TRBT chairman was not present, a delegation of candidates met the Controller of Examinations, who informed them that the issue would be communicated to the concerned higher authorities. However, no specific timeline for declaration of the results was given.
The candidates urged Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha to intervene and ensure early publication of the pending STGT results and completion of the recruitment process.
