Agartala, June 10: The Government of Tripura has appointed senior IAS officer Shantanu (Tripura Cadre, 1997 batch) as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) with immediate effect. The appointment was notified by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department on June 8. The notification also states that he will hold the charge of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department as Principal Secretary, Government of Tripura.
Shantanu has recently returned to the state after serving on central deputation in New Delhi. Before his repatriation, he was serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India, where he played a key role in matters related to the development of the North Eastern states.
According to the notification, Shantanu will take over the responsibilities of CEO, TTAADC, replacing the additional charge previously held by IAS officer Raval Hamendra Kumar. Meanwhile, Dr. K. Sasikumar, IFS, has been relieved of the charge of the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department.
The appointment of an experienced officer like Shantanu is expected to strengthen administrative governance and accelerate developmental initiatives within the TTAADC areas. His extensive experience in both the state and central governments is likely to benefit the autonomous district council in implementing welfare and infrastructure projects for Indigenous communities across Tripura.
