Tripura, 07 May 2026: A major road accident took place on Thursday evening near the Kalibari Ground area under Kamalpur subdivision, leaving four people seriously injured after a head-on collision between two motorcycles.
According to reports, the accident occurred on the road near Kamaleswari Kali Temple when two bikes coming from opposite directions suddenly collided with each other. The impact of the crash was so severe that both motorcycles were thrown onto the road, causing critical injuries to the riders and passengers.
Local residents immediately rushed to the spot and informed the Fire and Emergency Services through the 112 emergency helpline. Fire department personnel rescued the injured and first shifted them to Kamalpur Sub-Divisional Hospital. However, due to the deteriorating condition of the victims, all four were later referred to Kulai District Hospital in Dhalai district for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as Kumar Gaurav Namasudra (24), Smaran Namasudra (13), and Rakhi Namasudra (11), all residents of Lalchhara village under Kamalpur Police Station. The rider of the other motorcycle, Ayan Khara Modi (37), also sustained serious injuries.
Speaking to the media, a Fire and Emergency Services personnel said, “We received information from the 112 service about a collision between two bikes near the Jeshipur area of Kamalpur-Kalibari. Four people were injured, including two young children and two adults. From what we observed, their condition appeared critical. We brought them to Kamalpur Hospital immediately.”
The incident created panic and tension in the locality. Police have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
