Khowai: Mar 07. Alleging lack of progress in the investigation into his missing wife, a resident of Khowai has approached the district Superintendent of Police seeking intervention after claiming that the Khowai Women Police Station failed to act on his complaint.
Biplab Modak, husband of the missing woman Soma Deb Roy (Modak) of Sonatala area, said his wife has been missing since February 25. He lodged a missing diary at the Khowai Women Police Station on February 26.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the police response, Modak alleged that even after nine days, no visible progress has been made in tracing his wife. He claimed he has been repeatedly visiting the police station for the past several days but has not received any updates regarding the investigation.
According to Modak, he had also provided certain information to the police about where he believes his wife might currently be staying. However, he alleged that the police have shown little interest in acting on the leads he shared.
He further stated that despite submitting a written complaint, he has not been provided with a receiving copy of the document. Claiming that his requests for follow-up action have gone unanswered, Modak accused the police station officials of ignoring his case.
Left with no other option, Modak met the district Superintendent of Police on Saturday afternoon and informed him about the matter, seeking appropriate action.
After meeting the SP, Modak expressed his frustration before the media over what he described as the lack of response from the Khowai Women Police Station regarding the search for his missing wife.
The couple has been married for around 18 years and has two daughters aged 15 and 9.
