Agartala, March 4, 2026: To ensure peace and communal harmony during the Holi celebrations, the District Magistrate of West Tripura has issued an order imposing certain restrictions across the district.
According to the order issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), no person will be allowed to carry any kind of weapons, including firearms, sticks, or similar objects. The restriction will not apply to police personnel engaged in law and order duties or government officials performing official work.
The order further states that gatherings of more than five persons at a single place will not be permitted during the specified period.
Additionally, motorcycles will not be allowed to carry more than one person, meaning only the driver will be permitted to ride the vehicle.
These restrictions will remain in force from 10:00 AM to 12:00 midnight tomorrow across West Tripura district.
The order clearly warns that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating these instructions.
