Tripura, 30 Jan 2026: In a shocking incident, the bodies of a young man and woman were found hanging from the same rope in a forested area under the jurisdiction of Yatrapur Police Station, Tripura, on Friday morning.
According to local sources, residents spotted the unidentified couple hanging from a tree in the Mahima Luddhamura area around 7 a.m. The discovery quickly drew a crowd, and the matter was immediately reported to the police.
Police personnel rushed to the spot and initiated a preliminary investigation. However, neither the police nor local residents have so far been able to identify the deceased. Both bodies were later recovered and sent to the hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
While the exact circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be established, locals suspect it may be a case of suicide involving a romantic relationship. Police officials have stated that no conclusions will be drawn until the investigation and post-mortem reports are completed.
Further inquiry is underway to ascertain the identities of the deceased and the reasons behind the tragic incident.
