Tripura, 30 Jan 2026: As part of the preparations for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on 19–20 February in New Delhi at Bharat Mandapam, a regional-level awareness workshop was organised today at Pragya Bhavan.
The workshop was attended by Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha, who stated that the objective of the programme was to provide comprehensive awareness about the upcoming summit. He described the youth as valuable assets of both the state and the nation, expressing confidence that in the coming days the younger generation would drive the country forward through advanced technologies. Emphasising that modern daily life has become technology-driven, the Chief Secretary expressed hope that participants would gain deeper knowledge and enrichment in the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) through the workshop.
Addressing the programme, Secretary of the Information Technology Department, Kiran Gitte, said that the workshop was organised as a preparatory initiative ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to be held in Delhi in February. He noted that Artificial Intelligence is not merely an advanced technology, but a powerful tool to accelerate administrative efficiency and social development. Discussions during the workshop focused on how safe, reliable, and ethical AI can be utilised for public welfare. He also urged the youth and students of the state to actively participate in this technological revolution and become part of the Digital India mission. He thanked the Information Technology Department for organising such a meaningful programme.
The programme also featured an address by Suprakash Jamatia, Director of the Information Technology Department. Two documentary films on Artificial Intelligence were screened during the event. At the beginning of the programme, a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
