Ambassa: Jan 30. Ambassa English Medium Model School observed Bagless Day on Friday, aiming to reduce academic pressure and promote holistic learning among students. Celebrated on the last Friday of every month, the initiative encourages students to step beyond textbooks and engage in practical, creative, and social activities.
On the day, students actively participated in sports, educational tours, art activities, gardening, and cleanliness drives. While some students engaged in outdoor games, others went on educational trips with teachers. Younger students were seen busy with drawing and various learning-based activities, making the day both enjoyable and meaningful.
Teachers highlighted that such participation helps in enhancing students’ environmental awareness and practical knowledge, which are equally important alongside formal education. The programme emphasizes that learning is not limited to classrooms and books alone.
School teacher Swapan Nama said that Bagless Day helps reduce academic stress among students and allows them to enjoy learning in a relaxed atmosphere. He added that students eagerly look forward to this day every month and the school plans to continue the initiative in the future.
The Bagless Day programme has been widely appreciated for fostering creativity, teamwork, and real-life learning experiences among students.
