Ambassa: Jan 29. A three-day annual sports competition and cultural programme commenced on Thursday at PM SHRI Naitungul Para Residential Ashram English Medium SB School under Ambassa sub-division. The event began at 9 am at the school playground with enthusiastic participation from students.
The inaugural programme was attended by ILEC Chairman Sanjay Debbarma, Ambassa School Inspector Dhirendra Debbarma, social worker Joseph Halam, and the school’s in-charge headmaster Chhabistein Halam, among others.
Students actively took part in various sporting events including sprint races, long jump, high jump, tennis ball throw, spoon race and other competitions. Prior to the start of the sports meet, students also presented a PT (physical training) display.
Addressing the gathering, in-charge headmaster Chhabistein Halam said the school organises the annual sports and cultural programme every year, and this year too it is being held over three days. He emphasised that participation in sports alongside academics plays a crucial role in the physical development of students, improves concentration and is an integral part of education.
Students expressed great enthusiasm and joy at being part of the annual sports competition, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere on the school campus.
