Tripura, 19 Jan 2026: Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital continues to provide comprehensive treatment for a wide range of complex dental problems. The hospital caters to patients of all age groups, including children, adults, and the elderly, offering treatment for various dental and oral health issues.
One of the most important departments of the institution is the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, which focuses on improving oral health among children and adolescents. At present, many children are suffering not only from dental problems but also from various oral diseases. To address these issues, the department is providing treatment using modern technology and advanced methods.
Notably, the Pedodontics Department has been successfully carrying out reimplantation of avulsed (knocked-out) teeth caused by trauma or accidents. Using modern techniques and advanced equipment, the department is effectively treating various oral conditions.
Among the department’s significant achievements is the successful treatment of a nine-year-old child with borderline autism, whose front tooth had been completely knocked out. The child’s guardians brought the fallen tooth wrapped in paper to the department, where specialist doctors successfully replanted the tooth into the socket.
In another case, a ten-year-old child lost a tooth while playing. The child was brought to Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital, where specialists from the Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry Department successfully reimplanted the tooth by following proper clinical procedures. A similar third case involved another ten-year-old child whose front tooth had fallen out and was also successfully replanted by the department’s expert doctors.
Specialists from the department stated that if a knocked-out tooth is brought within 30 minutes (half an hour), successful reimplantation is possible. Until reaching a pedodontist, it is advised that the tooth be preserved in saline, milk, or the patient’s own saliva.
Even several months after treatment, all the patients are reported to be in good health. The families of the children expressed their gratitude to the specialist doctors and healthcare staff of Agartala Government Dental College and IGM Hospital for their dedicated and skilled treatment.
