Guwahati, 17 Jan 2026: The State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam, has released a major recruitment notification inviting online applications for 2,972 posts across various departments, including Forest, APRO, Fire & Emergency Services, and Assam Police (DGCD & CGHG).
In a significant relief for aspirants, the board has announced that there will be no application fee for this recruitment drive.

• AFPF Constable: 405 Posts
2. APRO (Assam Police Radio Organisation):
• Constable (WO/WT): 642 Posts
• Constable (UB): 1 Post
3. Fire & Emergency Services:
• Sub-Officer: 1 Post
• Fireman: 337 Posts (Male Only)
• Emergency Rescuer: 41 Posts (Male Only)
4. DGCD & CGHG (Civil Defence & Home Guards):
• Constable (Grade-III): 733 Posts
• Bandman (Constable): 11 Posts
• Bugler: 2 Posts
5. Assam Police:
• Boatman: 10 Posts
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in applying must meet the following criteria:
• Residency: Must be a Citizen of India and a Permanent Resident of Assam. Candidates must register with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
• Language: Proficiency in Assamese or any other state language is mandatory.
• Age Limit (as on 01-01-2026):
• 20 to 24 Years: For Sub-Officer.
• 18 to 25 Years: For AFPF Constable, Constable (WO/WT), Constable (UB), Fireman, Emergency Rescuer, and Boatman.
• 18 to 40 Years: For Constable (Grade-III), Bandman, Bugler, Forester Grade-I, Game Watcher, and Forest Guard.
• Note: Age relaxation applies for SC, ST (5 years), and OBC/MOBC (3 years).
Salary and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be hired under Pay Band 1 (Rs. 12,000–52,000) or Pay Band 2 (Rs. 14,000–70,000) depending on the post, plus applicable Grade Pay and other allowances.
