Agartala, 16 Jan 2026: Students of Journalism & Mass Communication (JMC) of Tripura University have raised ₹20,000 to support a family critically injured in a fire accident at Karna Kishore Para, Dumburnagar in Dhalai district.
The incident occurred when a gas cylinder burst into flames during dinner, destroying the family’s bamboo house and leaving both parents and their children with severe burn injuries. The victims are undergoing treatment at AGMC & GB Hospital, Agartala.
The family faces added hardship as the father is visually impaired and the mother has only one functional eye. Their six-month-old child survived without injuries.
Moved by an appeal on social media, the JMC students voluntarily contributed the amount to help meet urgent medical expenses, reflecting a strong sense of empathy and social responsibility.
