Agartala, Jan 16: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Agartala will organize its 18th Convocation Ceremony on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Swami Vivekananda Seminar Hall on the institute’s campus.
Details of the convocation were shared during a press conference held on Friday at the Agartala Press Club by the Director of NIT Agartala, Professor (Dr.) S. K. Patra, along with Registrar Ashish Kumar Badla and other senior officials.
The Governor of Tripura, Indrasena Reddy Nallu, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest and Principal Speaker. The ceremony will be presided over by Vinod Kumar Bauri, Chairman of the Board of Governors, NIT Agartala. Degrees and certificates will be awarded to graduating students by the Director, Professor (Dr.) S. K. Patra.
NIT Agartala is one of the premier national-level technical institutions established by the Government of India to promote excellence in technical education and research in the North-Eastern region. Currently, the institute has 5,363 students enrolled across various programmes.
The institute offers B.Tech programmes, M.Tech programmes with 24 specializations, dual degree programmes in five branches, as well as MBA, MCA, MSc and doctoral programmes. In addition, a four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme has been introduced from 2023. At present, more than 300 research scholars are pursuing PhD programmes at NIT Agartala.
