“I sincerely thank Maharaj for standing with us from the very beginning. We trust him and hope that my child will get justice. We want all the accused to be arrested and punished as soon as possible. The case should be transferred to Delhi and investigated by the CBI,” Angel’s father Tarun Chakma said.
Royal Scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma stated that he has been in touch with Angel’s family since January 9–10 and even earlier, since December when Angel was attacked. He said he had spoken to Chakma students, Angel’s relatives, and others concerned. Highlighting the seriousness of the incident, Debbarma said, “What happened to Angel can happen to any child, anywhere in the country. What was her fault? That her face looked different? That the way she spoke was different?” He emphasized that Angel’s father serves in the Border Security Force (BSF), protecting India’s borders against threats from countries like Bangladesh, Myanmar, Pakistan, and China.
