Agartala: Jan 07. The Tripura Fair Price Shop Dealers’ Association, an organization representing the interests of the state’s fair price shop (FPS) dealers, Ambassa Sub-Divisional Committee, on Wednesday held its 7th Divisional Conference at the Society Hall of TRTC Motor Stand, Ambassa, where dealers strongly raised long-pending demands including government employee status and higher commission rates.
The conference was inaugurated with the ceremonial lighting of lamps. Prominent dignitaries present included Ambassa BAC Chairman Parimal Debbarma, Ambassa Municipal Council Vice-Chairman Gopal Sutradhar, State Secretary Utpala Deb, Treasurer Tapas Chakraborty, Ambassa Divisional President Ranjit Chakraborty, and Divisional Secretary Mintu Ranjan Das, among others.

Addressing the gathering, Divisional President Ranjit Chakraborty said the conference was part of the association’s annual programme involving all ration dealers of the Ambassa division. He stated that a new divisional committee for the next two years would be formed through this conference.
He further informed that a charter of demands would be submitted, highlighting key issues such as granting government employee recognition to ration dealers, increase in commission, enhanced commission on salt, sugar and pulses, and filling up staff shortages in the Food Department.
The conference witnessed significant participation from ration dealers across all areas under the Ambassa division, reflecting strong unity and collective resolve within the association.
