Tripura, 07 Jan 2026: The 44th Agartala Book Fair witnessed its sixth day today with a series of vibrant cultural programmes, book releases, panel discussions, poetry recitals, quiz contests, and extempore speech competitions, continuing the daily tradition of literary and cultural activities at the fair.
According to official figures, on the fifth day of the book fair, books worth ₹11,09,012 were sold. In the first five days, total book sales reached ₹54,05,898. In comparison, during the first five days of last year’s Agartala Book Fair, books worth ₹51,53,557 were sold, showing a positive growth in sales this year.
Today’s cultural programme featured performances by artists from Khowai district, who presented colourful cultural items on the main stage. A discussion on the topic “Little Magazines in Tripura and the Literary Consciousness of the Young Generation” was held, in which noted speakers Nakul Roy, Sandip Deb, Bijan Bose, and Indrani Saha took part.
A special interactive session on memory development was conducted and moderated by Animesh Majumdar. The poets’ meet saw poets from Dhalai and West Tripura districts reciting their poems, adding a literary flavour to the event.
On the occasion, 18 new books were released by Manu to Feni Publication at the book fair.
The Agartala Book Fair continues to attract large numbers of book lovers every day, reflecting the growing interest in literature and culture among the people of Tripura.
