Tripura, 16 August 2025: The festive spirit of Bengal’s grandest celebration, Durga Puja, has begun to fill the air in Khowai with the traditional Khuti Puja rituals. Following age-old tradition, the city’s renowned and heritage clubs Bharat Kalyan Sangha, Evergreen Club, and Mahadev Bari Temple Committee formally kicked off this year’s Puja preparations today with the auspicious ceremony.
The occasion was graced by the presence of club presidents, secretaries, members, along with eminent social workers of Khowai including Samir Kumar Das, Anukul Das, Chirantan Das, Advocate Abhijit Deb Sarkar, Subrata Banik, and other respected figures of the community.

This year, the clubs announced their central theme “Mirror of the Past”, which will recreate an imaginative temple design. In addition, awareness campaigns against substance abuse and child marriage will be highlighted through artistic installations and exhibitions. Visitors can expect to experience glimpses of cultural traditions and heritage brought to life through creative artwork and decoration.
With Khuti Puja setting the tone, the preparations will now gather pace from the construction of the pandal to the crafting of the idols turning the entire locality into a hub of devotion, culture, and community celebration in the days to come.
