Tripura, 13 August 2025: In view of the main event of the 79th Independence Day celebrations at Assam Rifles Maidan on August 15, the District Magistrate of West Tripura has announced temporary traffic restrictions and no-parking zones to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians. The restrictions will be in effect from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon.
During this time, the movement of all private vehicles, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers, e-rickshaws, rickshaws, and pushcarts except vehicles carrying school students will be prohibited in the following areas:
- From Gorkhabasti in the south to Buddha Mandir in the north
- From Malanchanibas to Circuit House
Vehicles carrying patients to GB Hospital during the restricted hours will have to take the Abhaynagar Bazar–Kumaritilla route.
The following stretches have been declared no-parking zones:
- Both sides of the road from the main gate of the old Raj Bhavan to Buddha Temple
- Both sides of the road from Buddha Temple to the old MLA Hostel (Cantonment Road)
- The road from Buddha Temple to Abhaynagar Post Office
The District Magistrate has also advised air passengers to use the Durga Chaumuhani–Barajala road via Panchavati Kali Mandir to reach the airport.
