New Delhi | August 7, 2025: The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) has approved the construction of the Mangaldoi–Mazikuchi road in Assam, aimed at improving direct connectivity between Darrang and Udalguri districts.
The proposed road will be 15 kilometres long and built at a cost of ₹45.31 crore under the North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS). Once completed, it will reduce the distance between Mangaldoi and Bhergaon by 7.2 kilometres, enhancing travel efficiency and boosting regional infrastructure.
According to the ministry, this project will play a key role in facilitating economic growth and better access across interior parts of Assam.
