Bagma, July 30, 2025: Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Tuesday visited Bagma Agriproducers Company Limited (BAPCL) to review various agricultural initiatives and interact with farmers and stakeholders involved in integrated farming activities.
During the visit, the Governor inspected the Model Integrated Farming System, which brings together multiple livelihood activities such as pig farming, fishery, poultry, goat rearing, and beekeeping in a single coordinated unit. He also visited the milk collection centre, oil extraction unit, BAPCL market, and several product display stalls, appreciating the diversity of farm-based produce.

Governor Reddy interacted with farmers and farm workers on-site and praised their commitment to advancing agriculture in the region. He remarked that agriculture remains the lifeline of Tripura and the cornerstone of its economy, but emphasized the need for scientific innovation and modern methods to make the sector more profitable and climate-resilient.
He further noted that the integrated farming model spearheaded by BAPCL serves as an example of efficient resource utilization and climate resilience, and lauded the organization’s role in the empowerment of Indigenous communities.
As a symbolic boost to agricultural entrepreneurship, the Governor handed over a ₹1 crore cheque to BAPCL Managing Director Sudip Majumdar on behalf of Punjab National Bank.
Later in the day, Governor Reddy presided over a meeting on agribusiness and financial empowerment at the BAPCL conference hall. The meeting was attended by MLA Rampada Jamatia, Gomati District Magistrate Rinku Lathar, NABARD Tripura Regional Office General Manager Anil Katamari, senior representatives from RBI, Tripura Gramin Bank Chairman Satyendra Singh, and scientists from ICAR and KVK.
The visit underscored the state’s growing focus on climate-smart agriculture, rural innovation, and Indigenous-led farming enterprises.
