Tripura, 11 July, 2025: Health workers under the Mungiakami Primary Health Centre are playing a vital role in the regular prevention and control of malaria. One of the key initiatives includes awareness programmes among the local population. As part of this campaign, health workers have been organizing health camps, conducting door-to-door malaria surveys, and implementing screening drives across remote areas under the PHC’s jurisdiction. On July 10, 2025, malaria screening was conducted in six areas — Nonachhara, 37 Mile, 43 Mile, Purba Laxmipur, Hajara Para, and Haludia. During the drive, health workers collected blood samples from 75 individuals using RDT (Rapid Diagnostic Test) kits.
As part of this intensified effort, health workers visited households to discuss the causes, symptoms, and preventive measures related to malaria. They also monitored the condition of known malaria patients and tested suspected individuals. This door-to-door campaign has significantly increased awareness about malaria among the local population.
The initiative is seen as a major step toward building a malaria-free Tripura. Medical officers, multipurpose supervisors (MPS), multipurpose workers (MPW), community health officers (CHO), and ASHA workers are working tirelessly under various Primary Health Centres and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs to extend quality healthcare services, especially in remote regions.
