Udaipur | May 8, 2025: In a bold move against alleged police corruption and rising drug abuse, women from Gokulpur submitted a formal deputation to the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) on Wednesday, accusing Officer-in-Charge (OC) Babul Das of Radha Kishorepur Police Station of shielding a known drug mafia in exchange for hefty bribes.
The accused drug dealer, Raju Miah, has reportedly been caught multiple times by local residents and handed over to police. However, locals allege that each time, he was released without legal consequences, allegedly due to a corrupt arrangement with OC Das.
“We’ve complained several times, but nothing changes. The drug mafia continues to operate freely, and our children are falling into the trap of addiction,” said one of the protesting women.
The deputation submitted to the SDPO detailed repeated inaction and demanded a thorough investigation into the alleged nexus between the police and drug racketeers.
“This is not the first time such allegations have surfaced against OC Babul Das,” one of the protestors added. “Yet, no disciplinary action has ever been taken.” The women have called upon the State Home Department to intervene immediately, ensuring a fair investigation and strong action against both the officer and the drug mafia operating in the region.
Local voices are rising, and the demand is clear: accountability, justice, and a drug-free future for Gokulpur.
