Agartala, May 3: A content creator was arrested yesterday in Agartala for allegedly producing and sharing anti-national and obscene content targeting women on his YouTube and Facebook channels. The accused, identified as Al Amin Miah, hails from Rajnagar and operated under the social media name “Mr. Honcho.”
The arrest followed a formal complaint lodged at West Agartala Police Station by Tushar Kanti Acharya along with five others, accusing Al Amin of creating content that was not only offensive but also posed a threat to national integrity. Acting promptly, the police registered a case under multiple sections and apprehended the accused.
According to Officer-in-Charge Paritosh Das of West Agartala PS, the accused is being presented before the court today, and the police will seek five days of remand for further investigation.
OC Das also issued a stern warning to other content creators, urging them to exercise caution and responsibility while creating digital content, emphasizing that any form of anti-national or obscene material will not be tolerated and could lead to severe legal consequences, including life imprisonment.
